A recent survey by the Workforce Institute: Workplaces Falling Behind Today’s On Demand Culture found that over a third of employees surveyed worldwide felt their job was harder than it should be because of outdated processes and legacy technology. This was especially prevalent in state and local government and in the finance industry.
What's becoming apparent is that legacy technologies used in the enterprise need to adapt to meet the user expectations that consumers have become accustomed to. Workers are done with jumping through hoops to accommodate legacy systems of record and with the growth of data has changed the scale of the problem. Companies that aren't embracing digital transformation and relying on outdated systems are going to be left behind. But addressing these challenges with a rip and replace approach isn't going to do it. "If it were that easy, everybody would be doing it already"
Businesses need to modernize their legacy investments and make using them easier. To shore up their systems and simplify the process of finding and using enterprise information.
