Getting started with Shinydrive for the Mac is a snap. We’ve been living in it here at Shinydocs HQ as our primary conduit into Content Server. Once your Shinydrive Server has been set up it’s easy for Mac users to get up and running. Users should have a few things on hand before starting.
- Content Server Username and Password
- URL of your new Shinydrive server ready (example: https://myshinydrive/cs-rest)\
- Your Shinydrive profile name
Double-click your Shinydrive install package to get started.
The installer will walk you through the steps needed to install Shinydrive.
During installation your computer may prompt you to provide your laptop/desktop username and password to complete the installation.
From within your Applications folder or using Launchpad you will find the Shinydrive icon. Click to access the program.
You will be presented with your Settings screen. Here you will need to provide your Content Server Username and Password as well as the URL of your Shinydrive server and it’s Profile name
Shinydrive will connect to your Content Server instance and mount your drives. In this case I’ve mounted the Enterprise Workspace and my Personal Workspace to the desktop.
Users can now access their Content Server directly from the desktop as if it were a drive. Here, I’ve navigated into the Enterprise Workspace and drilled down to my file. By right-clicking files I can perform Content Server actions such as reserve or edit Categories and Attributes and Permissions as well as monitor the versions.
Shinydrive works with every application on both the PC and Mac for Content Server
Drive end user adoption of your existent Content Server implementation by including Mac users. Connect your enterprise data and make it easy to user for both PCs and Macs. Rely on your ECM investment as your system of record while using Shinydrive as your solution for engagement.
